Terror in Tel Aviv
The truck driver who plowed through traffic on a busy Tel Aviv street on Sunday morning appeared to be on a deliberate rampage to run down pedestrians and passengers, an eyewitness said.
The truck crashed into a number of pedestrians and vehicles, including motorcycles and a bus, and then sped off leaving one person dead and at least 16 wounded, in what security forces believe was a terrorist attack.

“It was a miracle that the bus was empty when it was hit by the truck,” said Yossi, an eyewitness on the scene. “This could have ended completely differently.”
Yossi added that the driver did not even try to stop and would likely have continued his rampage had he not rammed into the bus. The driver appeared to be in a frenzy and was shouting and cursing, he said.
“We heard terrible slamming behind us in the car — boom, and another boom and another boom – until it reached us, and we simply flew up in the air,” said Yossi.
“He went on and crashed into a bus. He got out and began to go crazy, throwing things at people. There was this poor innocent girl — he struck her on the head. She just fell down, and now people are treating her. What can I tell you? A terrorist attack.”
Another witness at the scene said the incident looked “completely like a terrorist attack”.
The 22-year-old driver, a resident of Kafr Qasem, was arrested soon after the incident. He told police interrogators that he lost control of his vehicle.
